>[!quote] my question
>Q: do you have any advice on what to watch out for when naming fictional places inspired by real world locations?
- Go through a language (sensitivity) check, to make sure you're making a toponym that reflects a certain language or cultural perspective
- Consider fictional alternatives like Marvel Cinematic Universe's regions: Sokovia (a fictional country bordered by Slovakia and Czech Republic) and Wakanda (a fictional African country), or Grand Theft Auto's Los Santos (notLos Angeles) to displace yourself from real world locations.
